If an employee is laid off and does not accept a placement, will that employee be on a rehire list for five (5) years, and will the employee have rehire opportunities only in their region or statewide?

If an employee is laid off, they are placed on Re-employment for five years and will have re-employment rights to the classification(s) from which he or she was laid off or demoted through.  Initially, an employee is put on a re-employment list with a location code of the county where they were laid off, but a statewide location code may be chosen at a later date.
